I have been working as an instructor for over 15 years. I can teach all ages and backgrounds, and have a very patient approach. I recently moved to the Denver area, and I am excited to start up and build a new student base. I do expect my students to practice, as it is the only way a student will improve and grow to love music even more. My focus is for my students to not only understand music, but enjoy it to the fullest extent. For this reason, there is no set structure for all students, but each lesson varies based on the student's needs and wishes. It is incredibly rewarding to watch my students grow in their passion and love for music as well as grow in their confidence. Playing is a big part of the creative process, in that it involves experimenting and finding new ideas, thoughts, and processes that work best for each individual and that will lead to the perfect practice and the excitement of performance. When a student is ready, I will encourage them to do some suggested performing opportunities. Nothing is more thrilling to me and sometimes emotional, than to see one of my students progress to the point of loving music as much as I do, and to go on and spread the good to all those who will listen. I began teaching guitar lessons informally in college. I learned then that I had a knack for helping people understand concepts and techniques on the guitar. I have had more regular students since my early twenties, from young children to senior citizens. I have taught singers who simply wanted to be able to strum chords; folk and blues fingerpickers; and the occasional lead guitarist in rock, pop or blues styles. Read More

I'm a passionate and energetic instructor who loves working with students of all ages and sharing my love of music. In 1994, I graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music. Performing as lead singer in a very fun dance/funk band with a horn section has been one of the greatest experiences of my life. I've been fortunate to play almost every large venue in our great city as well as open up for famous acts such as Howard Jones at the Gothic Theater. Read More
