From my experience in receiving music lessons when I was younger, I had a difficult time putting forth the time and effort for lessons that were classically run. I had a lot more fun with music when I’d learn at the pace I wanted to learn, and work on pieces I felt most interested in. I certainly don’t want this to be a boring, or draining experience for students, but a time in which students can come to me with interests or questions regarding their goals in music, or even song ideas! From there we will progress into learning songs, developing musical interests, and playing our first performance. Adult students bring their own experience and interests that will be used to guide lessons individually. String Bass students will begin with the George Vance Progressive Repertoire for the Double Bass. Read More

My approach is different for each student. A curriculum will be designed around the student's needs, skill level, music reading ability, musical interests, and age level. I am capable of teaching a student as much as they are willing to learn. We will not only learn a piece of music, but will dive into what makes the piece interesting to the student and the theory of music. Each student will have an active role in their musical education and as a result, students tend to be more motivated to learn and succeed. Read More

For very beginners, I will typically start with a basic method book, such as Hal Leonard to learn the essentials of basic technique. For adults or students with more experience, I will cater my lessons specifically to each students interests and goals as I find that this is the best way to keep students engaged and excited to learn. I teach music theory along with anything we learn in a lesson so the student can apply it to material they are already familiar with and interested in. Read More

As a music instructor I strive to help my students learn as much as possible while harvesting a love of their instrument and the music they play on it. I have had the oppurtunity to play Carnagie Hall, tour the country, and perform witha multitude of different acts. Read More
