Nothing is more pleasant than being able to inspire my students to become passionate in what they do, and do what they love. The first thing i do when i begin the process of teaching a student is to ask him/her what he desires to achieve with what he wants to learn, from there i establish the intensity and demand in the apprenticeship. For those who want to achieve a professional level in the instrument must compromise his effort and his time in the study of his instrument. Read More
Instruments: Piano
Drawing a grand staff and then drawing notes on the staff help the student understand how music is written. Once basic theory is introduced, I look for music that I hope the student will enjoy playing. I know that there is music I love to play and music I would rather not play. It is important to find at least once piece that the student really likes and looks forward to playing. Read More

Instruments: Piano Guitar Violin Saxophone Clarinet
I have a great breadth and depth of experience with instrumental music education. Clarinet has been my primary performance instrument, but I have found over the years that the techniques that I use to teach clarinet are easily and successfully transferable to the other instruments that I teach. Besides the clarinet, I also teach saxophone, guitar, violin and piano throughout the Colorado Springs area. Of course the differences have to do with embouchere, fingerings (which are similar to the clarinet), and tone production. Read More
Instruments: Flute
I find teaching very rewarding and love to help students learn t love the flute and music. I try to teach music theory as well as flute technique and encourage music appreciation. Challenging h student with new material each lesson and trying to find out what inspires the student helps to keep lessons challenging and interesting. I also like to arrange for students to play together in duets and ensembles and to find out what their musical connection are with in their school or community. Read More

The fundamentals techniques of classical playing will also be a focus (scales, chords, arpeggios, speed and agility drills, and the like). Infused in the course of study are supplemental helps, learning both the USC"s "CAGED" system scales and Segovia scales as well as work on a chosen solo piece that best fits their skill level for a recital performance. The advance students I primarily concentrate on expanding the students repertoire, and help the student with any particular request or needs toward improving or refining their playing, going into greater depths of techniques, gaining a greater understanding on the importance of scholarship on pieces transcribed for guitar, and music interpretation. Instruments: Guitar Voice
Vocal technique, including breath support, pitch, range, tone, and style are important for every singer. However, each student is not the same, and it is important to help a student find their natural voice and work from there. A huge part of becoming a better singer has to do with building confidence. Confidence comes from having little successes and getting in touch with one's own natural sound. Then wonderful new sounds and feelings can be built from there. Read More
