Once they begin to learn the basics and and can grasp the fundamentals, I can begin to introduce solo pieces. For adults, I try to learn about what level the student is and what their interests are so that I can cater my lessons accordingly. A sense of accomplishment and progress needs to be maintained with mostly positive feedback and encouragement to strive to be better.
