I tend to use the Suzuki Method for my students. I find that it helps create a solid foundation for the student and includes repertoire that is familiar to many. In addition to the Suzuki Method, I like to use etude books, duet books, and sight-reading books for those who are learning how to read music. I am a motivated and fun-loving music teacher of all age ranges. I have been teaching private voice and piano lessons since I was a senior in high school, and I love working with all of my students and watching them grow throughout the course of our lessons. I graduated magna cum laude from The Hartt School in 2001, receiving my BFA in Musical Theatre Performance. Using the techniques modeled from the International Voices of Mix, an assessment is taking on the syllable Ahh, on either a 5 tone scale or 8 tone. This is done to listen for various breaks in voice. Once this is discovered different different vocal exercises are then orchestrated to begin the process of strengthening the less stronger parts of the voice. I am a passionate flutist that loves teaching flute privately in addition to performing. In May of 2022, I graduated Summa Cum Laude from The Hartt School of Music with a BM in Flute Performance. While I was there, I studied with Janet Arms, flutist of New York City Opera. I have also extensively studied with Dr. Barbara Hopkins, Assistant Principal of The Hartford Symphony Orchestra.
