I am a passionate flutist that loves teaching flute privately in addition to performing. In May of 2022, I graduated Summa Cum Laude from The Hartt School of Music with a BM in Flute Performance. While I was there, I studied with Janet Arms, flutist of New York City Opera. I have also extensively studied with Dr. Barbara Hopkins, Assistant Principal of The Hartford Symphony Orchestra. I grew up singing in the children's choruses of The Metropolitan Opera and NYC Opera, dancing at The School of American Ballet in The Julliard School at Lincoln Center. I earned a college preparatory diploma from The Manhattan School of Music and went on to earn my BM and MM at Westminster Choir College (a world renowned choral conservatory in Princeton, NJ). In addition I had the pleasure of being a vocal/coach at the Amity Music Academy in Woodbridge, CT in I moved on to the New Haven Academy of the Performing Arts teaching vocals/piano lessons, and she was also the Music Director of the Musical Theater Intensives. Proper technique, learning the notes, and learning how to practice effectively is a great place to start. Even ten minutes a day is better than not practicing. Making lessons fun and giving students tools to bring home is very important to me. For beginning students, I typically start with the Hal Leonard Method Books. Once the student can get the basics down I start with basic rock and pop tunes, or whatever music the student happens to be interested in. Forintermediateor advanced players, I try to gage where the student wants to go with the instrument and try to help them any way I can with theory or performance.
