I use repetition quite a bit but that's the best way, I find, that someone learns. I also encourage them to investigate and practice things that have not necessarily been assigned in order to see how serious they are. I encourage all students to work on memorizing repertoire, keeping correct posture, practicing a few times a week and performing for friends and family during the learning process.
