I am a passionate and motivated teaching artist who enjoys working with children and adults. I graduated with a Bachelor's in Music at Loyola University New Orleans in the fall of 2017. Performing chamber music, playing in Orchestra, and special events for weddings and corporate events have been an exciting part of my life as a musician. I am a classically trained singer with a Master's Degree in Vocal Performance who lives, performs, and teaches in New Orleans. I frequently perform professionally in several genres of music, including opera, jazz, musical theatre, and pop. I also have several years of experience teaching in all of these genres. I sing with the New Orleans Opera and St. Cecilia's Asylum Chorus, in addition to fronting my jazz band, the Melanie Gardner Quintet, which performs regularly on Frenchmen Street and around the city. I have taught dozens students from over 20 countries about songwriting, guitar playing, singing, lyric writing, piano, ukulele and more. Since 2011 I have played in over 1000 stages, starting in my hometown of Corrientes, Argentina, at first playing on the streets for tips and later moving onto bars, later theaters, and now touring full time. Teaching has always been something I have gravitated towards, specially after several requests from my listeners.
