For high school players I like to introduce more solo material and advanced method books including The Claude Gordon Systematic Approach and books by Charles Colin, Earl Irons and Herbert Clarke. While i believe there are certain basic of play the trumpet that are accepted worldwide i do not believe there is only one correct method and encourage my students to incorporate several methods to create their own personal sound. I am a multi-genre cellist who is passionate about helping students reach their full potential as musicians. I have been classically trained since the age of three, and studied classical theory and composition at Harvard University. However, towards the end of my college experience I began to learn jazz and blues and ended up pursuing a Master's degree in Contemporary Performance. I have been teaching oof and on for the last 20 years. I have been playing professionally for the last 27 years. I played in my high school marching band and in the symphonic orchestra. I studied under Tony Casselli and Tom Tehdran. I've been in a variety of bands from dinner/oldies bands to rock. My current studio has two drum sets and a DW practice pad set. I use some of the standard drum method books along with some of my own techniquies I've developed over the years. Read More
