I believe in training students both as instrumentalists and as overall musicians. Thus, beginning cello students will start with the Suzuki method to get basic technique down. Then, as a student improves, solo repertoire will be introduced from both the Suzuki method and other sources. Once a student has reached a state of proficiency, I will cater my teaching instead to the style that the student prefers. We can continue in classical music, or transition to contemporary styles. For beginners, I like to incorporate a basic understanding of pitch, rhythm, and theory to develop their skills as a musician. I use a variety of exercises to develop range, intonation, diction, and breath control. The warm up part of the lesson is so important because it is where I can identify strengths and expose weaknesses that can be improved. Once these have been assessed I like to select repertoire that allows the student to use their growing musicianship and skills. Read More

In 2010 I released my first solo album, After Tonight. Here is what a world famous producer Cliff Cultreri says about me: " Vlad is an absolute sweetheart of human being and a superb and very emotional player who puts all his heart into his music.I think he would be a great asset as a teacher as he is such likeable individual and he lives to play, learn and share/teach the guitar.
