My teaching expereince dates back to before I graduated undergraduate school. Since I had a semester to wait for Commencement, I was afforded an opportunity to work as a Teacher assistant, in an Open Classroom Learning Environment. This immediately preceded a very rewarding Student Teaching experience in the rural southern state of North Carolina. I then transferred to Queens University of Charlotte to continue studies with Robert Teixeira, and was awarded the Queens University Performer of the Year in 2008. After earning my Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance in 2008, I went on to study with Christopher Berg at the University of South Carolina, graduating with a Masters of Music in Guitar Performance in 2011. For beginning students I typically start with sound development and articulation for the brass instruments starting with armband studies and schlosburg studies. For the intermediate students I work on Clark studies and intersperse getchel etudes for artistic development. Advanced students work on major recital works for brass that help their development for performance. Guitar students learn chordal techniques with rythem patterns and a blend of classical playing finger picking for individual technique for fingers. Read More
