Instruments: Piano Voice Music Keyboard
My teaching method is based primarily on helping my students develop the skills needed to understand the language of music so that then they can create performances that are compelling and fulfilling to both the audience and themselves. I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach, and prefer to tailor my methods to the needs and goals of the student. For beginning piano students I tend to gravitate towards Faber's Piano Adventures to help us work and develop the fundamental skills. Read More

I love music, always have and always will! Being an instructor allows for me to continue to work in the field I love by helping others master their talents. In 2014 I graduated from Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Professional Music. Throughout the years I have performed all over the country and outside of the US as well. I have had the pleasure of performing in festivals, major events and tours. Read More
Instruments: Voice Drums
Music has been a part of my life from as early as I can remember. After graduating from Lawrence University Conservatory of Music in 2006 with a Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance, I have continued to perform and broaden my range of musical experiences through diverse engagement in both the classical and non-conventional realms. Performing around the world and working with some of todays brightest and most acclaimed singers, ensembles, and conductors such as Leon Botstein, Dale Duesing, Karen Brunssen, James Hall, Warren Jones, Phyllis Hoffman, Pro Arte, Bard Festival Chorus, Canticum Scholare, New York City Chorale, VOCES8, and many others has been a privilege and immense learning experience. I am a classically trained pianists but also I took a jazz improv seminar and have taken private jazz piano lessons for years. I do not force anyone to play or think only one way to play piano since everyone comes in different sizes. Read More

Passionate about music and guitar from an early age, I first starting playing guitar when I was 13 and my older brother bought a Squire Strat. This is the Toyota Corolla of guitars. I then proceeded to play better than he did. Eventually, he stopped playing because I was better. Then I moved on to an Epiphone Les Paul. During this time, I was an extremely shy and self-conscious teenager and would not let anyone listen to my music. Read More

I've also found that a combination of classical and modern music can go a long way in helping students enjoy the piano and motivate them to practice and continue to learn. If a student isn't having fun in their lessons, then I'm not doing my job! My students are encouraged to enter festivals, camps and performing events as well as work on their own composing, so they can feel good about their accomplishments and stay motivated to learn.
