Overview:
I'm a dedicated teacher with a passion for sharing my love, knowledge, and experiences with others. I have had the honor to perform throughout the United States in renown concert halls including Carnegie Hall, the DiMenna Center for Classical Music, and the Bushnell Performing Arts Center. I have presented world premieres from acclaimed composers including Roland Dyens, Andrew York, Carlo Domeniconi, and Frank Wallace. My flute and guitar duo has been the recipient of numerous awards. I love having the opportunity to share my education and experiences with other musicians that share my passion.
EXPERIENCE
I have been teaching guitar and piano privately for the past 10 years ago, and was even selected by the Hartt School to be a piano tutor during my junior and senior years. In my undergraduate studies I took a few courses dedicated to the art of pedagogy. Through these courses I even had the opportunity to teach in front of renown faculty and gain insight from experts. The ability to share my love of music with others is one of the most rewarding experiences, and I often feel that I learning as much from teaching as from my own studies.
METHODS USED
I begin my students with the fundamentals of music and the instrument. As we expand our musical knowledge, we also broaden our understanding of technique, because I strongly believe that every musician, no matter the genre they ultimately play, needs a strong foundation of musical knowledge and technical proficiency on the instrument. All the while I take into consideration what style the student is interested in. I try my best to incorporate the students interests from the beginning, and as the student reaches a higher and higher level, we work more concentrated in the direction of their interests.
LESSON STYLE
My goal as a teacher is to instill a passion for music and encourage each student to become their personal best. I find that it is important to get to know each student's goals so that we can work towards them as a team. I am constantly pushing my students forward, but I make sure to take the time and remind them where they came from. It is easy to get caught up in how far one still has to go to reach their dreams, but I find that if students remember how much progress they have already made, it really helps to motivate them!

I am currently taking lessons with Joseph. I was absolutely blown away by how musically educated joseph is. He also has the talent that enables him to systemically communicate his gift in music to his students in a way that makes learning fun and enjoyable. I learned so much in a very short period of time!! To me, his lessons were like going to a prestiguous musical school and learning one on one with a professional instructor. Piano is such a beautiful instrument, but very hard to learn without such great teachers! I appreciate all the effort you put in teaching me! Thank you!!!!

Wow! Life just IS NOT FAIR - that one so young should be so blessed with such talent and skill!! I want to play like that! I could then die happy at finally accomplishing something so worthwhile! Absolutely beautiful mastery of his instrument.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
