And once student has progressed to have a skill, then I suggest some of easy solo repertoire appropriate or sometimes I made my own piece for them. My approach to teaching is solely based on vocal placement and having a great time. I encourage my students to mimic their favorite artists and or artist that they are not familiar with. This enables the students to loosen the tension in the voice and to get out of their comfort zones. My teaching style allows the child to have fun while they learn their instrument, but I emphasize a strong practice regiment. I have directed and music directed productions all over the United States, including the current Off-Broadway production of Honestly Abe.
