My mission is to help each student create a healthy sound rooted in the body, which, coupled with a solid breathing technique, creates an easy, effortless and dynamic tone. From the very first lesson, I teach a fudamental warm-up that addresses the physical, breathing and vocal, and which the student can use for the rest of their singing career. Once that's in place, I spend the remaining time tailoring the lesson itself to the individual student's needs; this may be focusing on breathing one day, while focusing on resonating the next. By the end of each lesson you will know what to work on for the week and exactly how to practice in order to achieve the most effective results. Students will learn the fundamentals of music theory and history while focusing on improving their technical facility on the cello. Students also work towards building their comfort with the instrument by practicing increasingly complex exercises and repertoire. My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 9 years ago and have been consistently teaching student in my studio for the last 2 years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key point I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for singing.
