For beginning students who are children, I start with the book "Learn to play piano" for piano students and for guitar "Learn to play guitar." It is a basic book with specific essential elements for reading and understanding music. As the student progresses I use to introduce songs for their repertoire applying what they leaned in the book. I consider myself mainly a jazz/cabaret singer, but I sing in many styles and genres. I also write my own music. I am working on my third album. I am very proud to say that my music has been played on radio stations throughout the U.S., Canada, South Africa, Australia, and Russia, and worldwide through the Siriusly Sinatra channel on SiriusXM radio. I don’t believe one method fits all! I believe each person is an individual, so students should be taught as who they are with their own pace. I emphasize on communication, motivation, and patience for both piano and singing. Basically these 3 elements are missing in our society, especially young students. I first began teaching private music lessons in high school when I taught my neighbors' children. I continued teaching through my undergraduate degree and loved it so much that I decided to make it a career and am now getting my advanced certificate in vocal pedagogy to further my knowledge and be the best voice teacher I can be.
