I am a graduate of The Manhattan School of Music, earning both my Bachelor and Master of music degrees. I have performed as a recitalist, in operas and as soloist with orchestra. I have performed locally and abroad, specifically the many Halls at Lincoln Center, The United States Capitol, and in the Rudulfinum Hall in Prague. I love performing and teaching. For beginning students, I typically start with the method book that the child is given by the school Music teacher, making certain that they are at least adequately prepared to play their assigned studies (or pages) for their school Music lesson. I also incorporate playing the Duets provided in that volume, along with the students. I then suggest that they purchase other necessary methods, duets and solos at their local Music Store(s), as they progress, and they will therefore require more advanced Musical materials than that used at their school. I create my own lesson plans based off of the individual student. For voice students, we usually warm up, do technical exercises working on varying registers and techniques, and then work on repertoire. I often find the passages in a particular song that the student is struggling with and focus in on those, finding exercises to guide the student. I also received 2 honors recitals in my time at Hofstra, one being the highest honor given to a vocalist at the university. I am extremely experienced with a cappella performance, having been president of the co-ed a cappella group (The Hofbeats) for 3 years. Since graduating, I have started my own professional a cappella group (Black to Gold A Cappella).
