Depending on the individual needs goals of each student, I will customize lesson plans on a week-to-week basis. If there are no immediate goals for my students, I prefer to focus on classical technique and tone exercises that I compile through a variety of method books for each woodwind instrument. This includes but is not limited to: Moyse, Kroepsch, Baermann, Ferling, Shaw, Filas, Lacour, and many others. I have been teaching for five years, beginning in Denver, Colorado. I began teaching Glee themed camps and dance classes through an organization in Denver, and then moved on to choreograph children's musicals (the largest of these had 80 children ages six to eighteen!). At my next studio I choreographed and music directed shows (Cinderella Junior and Aladdin Junior). At my busiest in Denver I had thirty-four private students. My experience in teaching is still growing. I have previously taught freelance back in 2010 assisting high school students prep for NYSSMA. I have taught toddlers as well as adults since then off and on but am looking to start to teach more consistently and regularly. I also have experience with children and young adults with special needs. I began teaching as a young flutist, but started teaching private flute lessons during my freshmen year of college, and have been teaching both kids and adults since then. I have performed with the Skidmore College Orchestra as the principal flutist as well as the Skidmore Wind Ensemble, Skidmore Chorus, composition recitals, and vocal recitals. In 2018, I won second prize in the Skidmore Concerto Competition and performed Reineckes flute concerto with the Skidmore Orchestra in March, 2019. Read More
