The way i approach sharing knowledge with students is to present materials and concepts and then set about "right-sizing" the tasks based on each student's individual needs. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at their own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a student's desire to progress and makes students eager to learn more. I like to keep my students motivated. I like to set goals, not only for myself as a teacher, but also for my students. The reason for this is that if the student is working towards a goal they have a motivation to keep moving forward. An example of this could be the student's goal is to attend an audition three times a year, or they want to learn how to sing for a school talent show. Read More

My background in classical piano gives me a strong foundation for successful piano education. I refer to the classic Russian method of piano technique and provide the student with confidence in sight reading as well as a strong understanding of music theory. My students have ranged from ages 5 to 65!
