I began teaching lessons privately in high school, about 6 years ago, and throughout college consistently. I have taught brand new musicians, who have never opened their instrument case, all the way through high school levels. I believe in starting the young musicians right with a good sound. I'm a very passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students to share my love of music. I am currently obtaining my Masters of Music degree in Flute Performance from New York University. I began this degree in September 2018 and I anticipate to finish in December of 2019. At NYU, I am an Adjunct Flute Instructor, so I teach privately at NYU to undergraduate students. I like to start my lessons with sound exercises to establish a good tone and then move on to the more technical part. The lesson usually ends with an etude or piece where we explore ways in which to incorporate the technical work we started our lesson with. I like to show my students how to isolate one specific technical aspect, work on it but also stay aware of the big picture and incorporate their technical skills in the flute repertoire. Read More

Every new student comes to their first lesson with particular skills and musical interests. My job is to assess the students abilities and lead them down the appropriate paths to achieving their musical goals. My goal is to cultivate musicianship.  Students are encouraged to develop technical skills as a means of creative and emotional expression.  Sight reading and improvisation are taught simultaneously with music theory and composition.
