I will often start beginning students with George Vance method books, emphasizing sound setup, facility, notation reading and musicality. With more advanced students, we will evaluate their tastes and experience to determine the best music for study. The Bach Cello suites are a life long endeavor for many bassists, and the major concertos and sonatas are a way for the motivated bassist to attain performance opportunities. I started my home studio and have had an amazing studio since!! It is sound proof with all ammenities, a waiting room, and technology, which I use often as a part of my lessons!
