Hello! My name is Eric, and I'm a multi-instrumentalist with the deepest history on trumpet. I began playing the trumpet at the age of 7, taking private lessons that I continued through high school with several wonderful teachers. I began playing in ensembles at the age of 9. I began playing the bass at 15, drums at 17, and guitar at 19. I now perform on all instruments. I've been a part of the Philadelphia-based band Snacktime since 2020 and we've traveled the country together and played some legendary venues such as Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado, Irving Plaza in NYC, and were the house band for Jason Kelce's "They Call It Late Night" on ESPN. I make sure that all of my students are getting what they want out of their lessons and the instrument that they are learning in general. My philosophy is that if a student isn't enjoying their lessons then I am not doing my job to the fullest potential. While they are learning the music they love, I make sure that they are gaining knowledge in music theory, as well as improving their technique and repertoire. Read More

Seeing a student progress instrumentally and theoretically is extremely rewarding and what I hope to accomplish through teaching. Setting goals throughout the lesson process is fundamental to a student progressing at their own pace and recognizing those goals will fuel their motivation to continue and prosper at their instrument. This is why students who know what they want to get out of their instrument in advance will have an advantage. Read More

I'm a driven musician and educator who strives to use my gift to make a positive difference in the lives of my listeners and students. I studied (undergrad and graduate respectively) at Howard University and Temple University, two wonderful urban campuses. I have been blessed to spend years cultivating my style and technique in the authentic music scenes of these cities. I have had the opportunity to perform in venues including Blues Alley, Chris's Jazz Cafe, South Kitchen and Jazz Parlor, The Kennedy Center, and The McCarter Theatre with artists such as Tim Warfield, Warren Wolf, Chucho Valdes, Akua Allrich, Braxton Cook, Khary Abdul Shaheed among others. If I am teaching beginners I will focus on developing proper technique (i.e. hand placement and crossing strings). How one ends is contigent on how they start, so I make sure beginners have proper technique before moving on to repertoire. I will also have beginners go through the Hal Leonard method books to ensure they have the theory necessary to progress. Once the students have developed the necessary technique and theory, I will give them more challanging material to learn. Read More
