Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. I am a believer in making music fun at all times, especially with young kids. If the guitar is not fun, and instead becomes a chore, students are less likely to practice and in time give up the instrument altogether. While still focusing on correct technique, music reading and theory, I add these elements in a way that is fun and intuitive, making progress easier.
