Instruments: Bass Guitar

I began teaching bass guitar about 25 years ago in Rockland County, NY in a small music school in New City. I've also taught privately in students homes and my home studio for many years. I've taught all styles of playing from classic rock to Johnny Cash, from Metallica to Motown, from The Beatles to Iron Maiden. Being well-versed in so many differnt styles of music opens up many possibilities and approaches to coming up with creative bass lines to compliment and construct a track, and keeping up ones playing at a high level of musicianship. Every student is different and I am extremely sensitive to what you need. Every student needs structured training and yet at the same time you should never be forced into the next stage in your musical development without a specific goal in mind. I have thousands of lessons that I have developed over time to help me do exactly that. This allows me to teach you on an individual level, even when you are in a group setting! Read More

Instruments: Guitar, Bass Guitar, Electric Guitar, Classical Guitar

I am very patient, friendly, humorous, approachable and humble/modest in demeanor, where many other teachers have a huge ego and "God complex", where they talk down to the student and make them feel uneasy and overly self-conscious. I am completely flexible with my lessons, teaching exactly what the student (or parent) wants (them) to learn, anything from the standard traditional approach (i.e reading music) to the rock approach just teaching them how to play their favorite songs, which I figure out by ear on the spot from the recording which the student asks me to listen to. Instruments: Guitar, Bass Guitar, Music, Keyboard, Electric Guitar, Acoustic Guitar

I like to start with learning the Pentatonic scale in it's 1st position and show how it can be played in 5 positions based on the components of the scale being built on 5 notes, or intervals. We'll look at the C major/A minor scales on every string to show where all of the natural notes are on the individual strings and then expand upon playing them in modes, and move on to another key to show how these scale patterns are inter related with all 12 keys followed by learning the chord shapes in open and closed positions and how and where to utilize them in songs or in a blues/jazz sensibility. Instruments: Drums, Bass Guitar

My teaching experience dates back to my high school days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 15 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students in my home studio for the last 10 years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. I've also found that a combination of jazz and modern music can go a long way in helping students enjoy the drums and motivate them to practice and continue to learn. Read More

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
