For beginners, I normally start with simple melodies and exercises. Scales and tunes can be added at a certain point. From early on, I also focus on ear training - the essential part of music learning - so a student gradually learns to hear what he/she plays. Sight reading music is also incorporated in the process from early stages. I studied guitar with international performing artist Anna Maria Rosado and composition with American composer Annette Le Siege.  I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Classical Guitar Performance from New Jersey City University.  I have performed extensively in small venues throughout Vermont, and was a house musician for several seasons at the Yosemite Theater in Yosemite National Park, California. I started teaching private lessons in high school. I taught guitar, bass, piano, voice, and songwriting lessons at Biryukov Academy of Arts and Music for 5 years for both kids and adult beginners. I have performed, written and music directed a children's theatre tour where I taught children to sing, act, and perform in front of large crowds. For my advanced and more focused students I let them set their own goals and then help them in every way I can.
