I am a musician and instructor that enjoys performing and teaching different styles of music. Many students come to me with a specific thing that they want to work on. I am able to design a course to help them reach their goal. With beginning students as they learn the basics and progress they begin to develop interest in certain styles. I look forward to helping them grow and discover why they are interested in the drums. Read More

I make sure that all of my students are getting what they want out of their lessons and the instrument that they are learning in general. I began teaching guitar in high school to middle school students and continued teaching children and adults throughout college. While in music college, I grew to start to teaching bass guitar as well as drums. My teaching style is focused yet fun. Me and my students always have a good time through my curriculum of theory and how it relates to music they enjoy. Whether it’s finding music theory in Taylor Swift song, or learning the guitar neck through a Beatles solo, I always find a way to teach through interests that the students have rather than force a cookie cutter approach. As far as my methods for teaching I want to learn a little bit about your background in music, what your influences are, what you would like to get out of this, and what you see yourself doing with these lessons in our first meeting(s). From there I will compose a lesson plan on what I think will best suit you to learn everything you need to know. My plan for you will consist of a background on music theory, a learning of rudiments that every drummer should know, as well as ear training. Read More

With my teaching style, I try to maintain open lines of communication as much as possible. This means learning about students, them learning about me, and feeling comfortable in communicating their roadblocks in music. Music is an expressive art form, and I believe that being able to effectively communicate with students will lead to a better instruction - students feel more comfortable performing and explaining issues, and teachers can cater to the learning styles of those students, which expedites the learning process and creativity.
