I began teaching guitar in high school to middle school students and continued teaching children and adults throughout college. While in music college, I grew to start to teaching bass guitar as well as drums. My teaching style is focused yet fun. Me and my students always have a good time through my curriculum of theory and how it relates to music they enjoy. I've been a private lesson teacher since 1997 and have taught in 7 school districts across the Southeastern PA/Southern NJ area since 1999. My ensembles have consistently won State, Regional and National Championships over this time and my students have become members of elite performing ensembles like the Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps (Fort Mill, South Carolina) and Miami, Florida's New World Symphony. I've playing in rock bands on drumset, pit orchestra on assorted percussion, marching bands in school and in community settings, and pretty much anything else you can name that has percussion in it. I've taught ages ranging from Kindergarten to 60+ year old retirees. I was musical director of elementary and middle school Show choruses. I was vocal coach for Deptford HS musical up until 1999. I also like to work on the foundations of syncopation and fundamental interdependence. The final method to start is a book in rock drumming that will serve as a good Segway to other forms of music, whether it be gospel, funk, or jazz. I like to expose students to a variety of styles, but also like to incorporate their interests into the lesson. I started out as a percussionist, studying throughout high school and in to college at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. During my time in Boston, I discovered a bustling bluegrass music scene and my focus switched to stringed instruments, namely the mandolin and the violin.
