Im a composer and musician, and I love learning and teaching how music works. I graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego in 2018 with a Bachelors in Music composition and have been making and teaching music ever since. I started guitar and drum lessons when I was ten years old, motivated by the joy of rocking out and expanded to classical instruction in highschool. By 2015, I was writing/recording w/ singer-songwriter Chris Panico, challenging my musicianship by composing on drum-machines and loopers, loops, then interpret them live on drumkit and electronics. In 2018, I started teaching drum lessons both privately and through Philadelphias original School of Rock, as well as adjunct-teaching recording classes at the Boyer conservatory at Temple University. In 2019, I started drumming for cover songs for the Music Ministry at First Unitarian of Philadelphia (FUCP), drumming for 9 services before the Pandemic of 2020 shut down our live church music. I've been teaching private instrumental and general classroom music for over 30 years. As a child, I received many music lessons on piano and drums and percussion. I decided to focus more on drums and percussion because it offered more in terms of opportunities to perform in school bands and orchestras. In high school, my friends and I formed our own band. I've been teaching for over 10 years now and I truly enjoy helping my students get more out of themselves. I started on classical piano at a young age, then played a whole lot of guitar focusing on the likes of Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix and more, before joining marching band and jazz band diving deep into drums. In College I started playing bass in bands in Manhattan, and I believe it's this transitions of hopping to many different instruments, starting on the piano, that makes it easy for me to relay the main musical concepts to my students that overlap through all of these instruments.
