I've been teaching for over 10 years now and I truly enjoy helping my students get more out of themselves. I try to pick a song or finger exercises for them each lesson as well as a few exercises where they can develop their reading skills. As the student progresses and has a good understanding of the fundamentals, I begin to introduce solo repertoire that is appropriate for their skill level. Once I know they have a grasp of the fundamentals, Ill usually see what their interests are or what they are working on personally and help them improve and build upon those things.
