I like to work with students individually for their own goals and skill level. For younger students, we work on msuciality and basics of singing through devleopmentally appropriate (and fun!) songs. Regardless of the student's level, each lesson contains singing repertoire, vocal exercises to work on technique, and musicianship skills. The combination of these elements will depend entirely on the student's needs and desires! Currently, I am an adjunct voice teacher at New York University while studying there for my Master of Music degree in classical voice along with an additional Post-Master's Advanced Certificate in Vocal Pedagogy (May 2020 candidate). I volunteered at my arts high school for 2 years helping with all of the Jazz Band, AP Music Theory, and private instruction in multiple instruments. I started teaching voice while at Purchase College and then focused on performing and writing, and came back to teaching last year. I use the techniques I've learned from my vocal teachers along the way, as long as my own ideas and perspectives on healthy, correct ways to sing your best. I believe strongly in teaching technique and basic theory in addition to singing whole pieces and performing.
