I like to work with students individually for their own goals and skill level. For younger students, we work on msuciality and basics of singing through devleopmentally appropriate (and fun!) songs. Regardless of the student's level, each lesson contains singing repertoire, vocal exercises to work on technique, and musicianship skills. The combination of these elements will depend entirely on the student's needs and desires! At the consultation lesson, I will provide a written assessment of where I see the student progressing and propose a plan to reach the students stated goals, focusing always on the process of individual development. I'm a young performer just finishing up my BA from CSUN. I've had a lot of training from a lot of prominent people in the industry and have broadway on the horizon! I do shows frequently here all over SOCAL and have had the opportunity to do some wonderful tours and meet amazing people! Read More

I'm a coloratura soprano who currently resides near New York City. With a strong emphasis on vocal technique, I teach voice in my private studio or at The County College of Morris, where I serve as an adjunct faculty member. Some of my previously staged operatic and musical theater roles include Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro), Angelina (Trial by Jury), Le rossignol (L'enfant et les sortileges), Soeur Gerald (Dialogues des Carmelites), The Shepherdess (Venus and Adonis), Christine in the New Jersey collegiate premier of The Phantom of the Opera, Lily (The Secret Garden), Cinderella (Into the Woods), Cosette (Les Miserables), and Cinderella (Cinderella). I come from a deep musical heritage and chose the trombone as my main instrument for spiritual reasons. While attending Los Angeles County High School for The Arts, I studied with jazz and trombone legends. Since moving to Boston to attend Berklee College of Music, I've been studying with masters from many different disciplines. I currently live in NYC where i am studying percussion, tap dancing and yoga. My home functions perfectly as a 24 hour teaching studio. Read More

I believe in music lessons there must be a balance. Especially on an instrument like guitar. Lessons should consist of a list of certain things almost like a checklist. First there is warm up and tuning. To make sure you are warmed up and in tune there are exersizes I like to start with my students. Once they are feeling warmed up I like to move on to sight reading and notation reading (practiced and unpracticed material) as well as scales, intervals, and arpeggios. Read More

I make it a point to ask all students (or parents for my younger ones) to purchase a notepad where assignments, expectations, exercises, tips/tricks can be written down to help them progress during the year and into the following week of lessons. My favorite aspect about teaching is pushing students beyond the limit they place for themselves. That being said there must be a mutual understanding that I will do all I can to help students get over a "learning hump" as I call it- I have access to a plethora of journals, articles, teaching websites, a personal library, all of these materials can be scanned, printed out, emailed and whatnot for the benefit of my students. I do not stick to one method or style of teaching as each student is different. A twelve-year-old student who wants to write songs, and sing Taylor Swift, will need a very different approach than a fifty-year-old opera singer. However, I do implement two very important key points in my teaching: Honesty and health. This is done by first making sure the artist (I prefer to refer to my students as artists as a sign of respect, and because I’m learning from them as well) has proper technique. Read More
