Instruments: Piano Voice
I began teaching private lessons four years ago in various genres such as jazz, pop, musical theater, and classical - with a bit of music theory for those who have expressed interest. Students of mine have participated in recitals and have written their own compositions. On top of private lessons, I was a Choral Music Instructor for the Massachusetts city, Chelsea, and its Community Youth Chorus. I also taught a voice class for the city of Chelsea that explored, group singing, music theory, breathing, posture, and vocal health. Read More

Both piano and voice students are required to become familiar with basic music theory. No worries if you are not proficient! We will get you there within the first few lessons. For piano students, I will start them with basic scales and the Hanon exercises. After the student masters a few of the beginning exercises, we will slowly begin to add repertoire that solidifies proper technique. I tend to only work with beginning piano students, as it is not my primary instrument. Read More

I believe in keeping the lessons very interactive by making sure that it is not just the student playing/singing. I keep the lesson flowing from one activity, or song, to the next by using a common goal throughout the lesson. I make a goal for each lesson known to the student so that the student can feel successful and accomplished at the end of every lesson. Read More

I am always rooting for my students to succeed, and am always striving to create a safe and fun learning environment. The thing that I love most about teaching voice is that everyone's voice is beautifully unique. I enjoy guiding each singer on their journey of singing and seeing where their hard work takes them. Nothing is more rewarding to me than playing a role in the artistic development of young singers. I love being able to help my students gain confidence in their abilities and reach their goals. One of my greatest goals as a teacher is to instill a lifelong love of music in each of my students. While singing takes practice and discipline, it should also be a lot of fun. I strive to create an encouraging environment where students can express themselves, embrace challenges, and not be afraid to make mistakes or try new things. Read More
