Ive been teaching consistently for 10 years now. I taught all ages, from kindergarten kids to people over 60, kids with special needs, one on one classes, ensembles, full classrooms, and high school. If there's one thing that I learned throughout my career is that very student has a unique voice, so every voice needs to be approached in a unique way. All of my students work on tried and true Bel Canto and Swedish techniques. I will give each student special vocal exercises to work on at home. I like to keep things simple. I focus on breathing and diction exercises and I like to discuss with my students about their performance. My style is very friendly and open and I will push my students to succeed. Singing comes down to muscle memory and each session with me is a mix of working out the mind and vocal muscles. Good fundamentals fix a lot of problems :) At one point, all my students (who have the self-awareness to do so) will stop themselves and correct any vocal mistakes made during practice without my input.
