Because everyone learns differently, I teach from a technique I've developed which I refer to as the blank slate method. Though I do utilize workbooks for their very informative and easy to understand nature, I prefer to teach each student based on what they know or what comes naturally to them. This involves you the student, your instrument, and a pen and paper. For beginner students who are children, we work together to learn a simple song so that they can feel a sense of accomplishment and be further motivated to continue their studies. Read More

Guitar Teacher at Afterschool Enrichment Solutions - October 2017 to March 2020 Taught guitar, chess, coding, and engineering after school classes at several schools in San Diego. This included Kavod Elementary School, Washington Elementary School, San Diego Jewish Academy, St. Paul’s Lutheran School, and Jonas Salk Elementary. • Curriculum for guitar included method book learning from Hal Leonard, as well as beginner songs for kids. • Curriculum for chess involved teaching the moves for each piece, beginner practice games only using a few pieces, and eventually full chess matches. • Curriculum for coding involved using a beginner level coding system to teach students the basics of how computer programs work. • Curriculum for engineering involved building small robots and having those robots perform simple tasks.
