I have been working and training different voices for years, in different musical genres with excellent results. During the classes you can expect specific breathing exercises, vocalization, and the study of songs and interpretation. We also discuss concepts of musical theory, which will allow you to develop and make yourself understood in any musical field. I started teaching privately in 2010 as part of a class assignment, and discovered I really enjoy doing it. I also love teaching and conducting choirs and have done that in various capacities for the past several years. I really believe that singing in choir is the best vocal training for young students. Choral singing and solo singing do not have to be opposite worlds! Both can be done healthily, and I like helping students discover this, or even just discover a new hobby. Read More

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs. Read More

It’s important to be able to gain that knowledge of theory early to help students be more independent. For adults on piano, we would work together to find repertoire to fit their skill level and interest to keep things engaging and relevant. Voice is much more individualized since every instrument is unique. Read More
