Instruments: Voice
I started teaching privately in 2010 as part of a class assignment, and discovered I really enjoy doing it. I also love teaching and conducting choirs and have done that in various capacities for the past several years. I really believe that singing in choir is the best vocal training for young students. Choral singing and solo singing do not have to be opposite worlds! Both can be done healthily, and I like helping students discover this, or even just discover a new hobby. Read More
Instruments: Voice, Trombone
This is my first time teaching private lessons. I have been playing for 9 years and singing for 10. I have taken private lessons in the past but I am looking forward to being able to teach the thing that I love to do. I am a fun, hardworking, and dedicated teacher and hope I can make an impact on my students. My motto is if you are not having fun while working hard then we are not doing it right. Read More
Instruments: Piano, Guitar, Voice
I've also found that a combination of classical and modern music can go a long way in helping students enjoy the piano and motivate them to practice and continue to learn. If a student isn't having fun in their lessons, then I'm not doing my job! Music is fun! My students are encouraged to enter competitions and recitals, as well as work on composing their own original material, so they can feel good about their accomplishments and stay motivated to learn. Instruments: Voice, Music
I grew up in a musical household and took lessons in viola, piano, handbells, and guitar before I convinced my parents that voice was my true musical passion. I took voice lessons throughout middle school, high school, and majored in music my first year at college. I have taught many informal vocal lessons to friends and family, but am new to studio teaching! I am creative and enjoy finding new ways to help students reach their goals! Read More
Instruments: Voice, Trumpet, French Horn
I use my own technique exercises that I write and cater for each of my students. I am a huge fan of the Arban's technique book for brass, but I like to keep lessons fun with songs that challenge my students at their level. Once the student has progressed to the intermediate level - solid fundamentals, musicianship, and a desire for learning - I introduce solo repertoire. These solo pieces range from simple etudes to full orchestral arrangements for their specific instrument. Read More
