I have almost 30 years of experience as a recording and performing musician. I studied in Detroit, London and Los Angeles, and recieved my BA in music and Performing Arts in 20011. Since then I have made a living writing pop songs and movie soundtracks, performing and teaching. For beginning students, around ages 5-9, I start with easy songs, but also teach them how singing works. I like to teach technique, and help students improve in their singing. Once students have grasped the fundamentals of singing, I'll let them start looking at solo repertoire so they can practice for a recital performance. For students of all ages, I start with a small book focusing on the essential elements of the instrument while teaching them something fun and recognizable. As basic techniques are acquired and musical concepts are grasped, I tailor the lesson to what the students long term goals are.
