I have been involved in the music industry as a commercial session vocalist, demo singer, and vocal coach for over 35 years. In 1988 I received my associates degree in music performance from Augusta State College, and then moved out west to focus on a career in music. During the 1990s as a commercial session vocalist, I was fortunate to have my voice featured on national network campaigns for ABC, NBC and CBS, as well as The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Wheel Of Fortune. For students who are serious about learning I believe a goal-oriented approach is the best, having a certain level or certain piece to try to reach by a specific time. Accomplishing this goal and seeing the results from working through the steps needed to learn a piece is very rewarding. This leads to new goals and the motivation to learn and accomplish even more.
