I teach students of a variety of ages and skill levels and I enjoy developing unique curriculum to fit each students needs and stylistic interests while incorporating elements of theory, ear training, singing and general music fundamentals into the lessons. I feel that teaching using real songs is the best and most engaging way to learn. I generally try to avoid teaching from a method book and instead work with a student to find what music excites them and use that as a way to introduce fundamentals. Read More

I have 12 years of classical training on the violin, 8 years of classical training on the piano, have taught private violin and viola lessons to more than 300 students over the course of 6 summers through the Hempfield School District, participated in the NAfME All-Eastern Orchestra, performed for a year as the bluegrass and old-time fiddler in the Joe Hillman Band (Philadelphia, PA), performed as the celtic fiddler in The Ogham Stones (Lancaster, PA) for one year, and have led my own band for 2 years as a singer, songwriter and guitar player. To date I have performed many of the major musical theater works that use guitar including Rock of Ages, Rent, The Who's Tommy, Grease, Hair, Footloose, All Shook Up, Ring of Fire, The Wedding Singer, and Hairspray, among others, and have appeared in multiple productions for several of these shows. As a classical guitarist, I have performed a variety of solo and chamber works. I began teaching guitar while in high school, and have had students consistently since 2002. During college I taught private guitar lessons both in Grand Rapids and Ypsilanti Michigan. After graduating I begam teaching guitar, audio engineering, and music business at Grand Rapids Community College. From 2009-2016 I was an instructor for a teen music program myself and other members of The Outer Vibe started called "Rock Camp."
