I want to set my students up for success. It's important for each student to move at his/her own pace. My studio has a relaxed atmosphere. Each student learns differently. I will do my best to tailor the lessons to the goals, needs and abilities of each student. I want to know what inspires the student. Acknowledging accomplishments helps drive students to progress - motivating the student to learn more. Read More

I take students into music they're interested in right away if they already know what they like. I love showing students how to work to learn, once they see how work pays off you can't stop them. I have my own Learn To Play Guitar book that I now use as handouts that have vocabulary, open chords, bar chords, inside chords, along with major and relative scales. The handouts are in color and done with a graphics program so they're not handwritten. Read More

My method for teaching is individualization. All my lessons are individualized for each student's ability level and musical interests. If need be, I use certain books to supplement my lessons and for personal at home practice. Normally I only recommend books to students that want to further their understanding and ability in sight-reading, drawing from my own experiences learning from various books and online sources. I often encourage my students to learn songs instead of just focusing on exercises and technique. Read More

I have been teaching private lessons on drums, guitar, and bass for a total of 8 years. I started teaching drum lessons when I use to visit back home for the summer during my college years. When I graduated, I started working at a School of Rock in Westchester County, NY. Teaching drums, bass, guitar, and beginner piano. In addition, I also coached and ensemble directed three of the performance groups at the school of rock as well. Read More

For all students I start with the basic fundamentals. For younger students I try to find out where they are in their music classes at school and incorporate as much of that curriculum into my instruction as possible. For older or more advanced students I find out what type of music they are interested in learning and gear my instruction towards their interests. I have several instructional books series that I work from, including Hal Leonard, Mel Bay and my own packet/study guides that I have put together that I present to my students as they progress. I am a motivated instructor who wants to get the absolute best out of my students. I attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA where I studied jazz piano and songwriting. This was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, but where I benefited from the most at Berklee was through meeting people. At Berklee, I met my studio band with whom I recorded my first studio album, "Finer Things", which is available everywhere. Read More

My main focus is on reaching the student, and fostering their love of music. I am adamant about instilling in students the genuine excitement and desire to pick up their instrument and practice. This is the most important lesson and will never leave a student. I do this largely by integrating what a student needs to learn in order to excel into what they want to learn, and I have had great success with this method. Read More
