From 2013 - 2021, I lived in the Czech Republic, developing personal and collaborative projects outside of classical music such as singing and composing for Yo Soy Indigo (freak-folk-jazz), Looncall (dark electronic), as well as solo performances of original music. I have a deep appreciation for all genres and love to flow through them in my vocal performance and composition styles. I have recently graduated with my Master of Arts from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow under the tutelage of Kathleen Ferguson and Lorna Anderson. Read More

First, it is important to have the students feel that you care and want to open their talents. Next, doing exercises together to learn diaphragm breathing and see the joy as they realize they can make a lovely vocal sound. Watching them find their true voice through an open throat is almost like magic. Discovering how the cheeks and bones move and open producing a radiant sound adds much more to learning to sing. I have been studying music for 25+ years, and I still study music on a daily basis. I play piano, flute, guitar, ukulele, sing, dance, and act. I am very passionate about teaching music and finding the life lessons that music has to offer for each student. I am a very exacting and precise teacher who requires the best from my students, yet I am extremely kind, positive, encouraging, and understanding. Read More

I have been teaching privately for almost 4 years. I train students on whatever they want to learn, but make sure to incorporate the basic fundamentals needed for good singing I also spent time teaching in public schools as a high school choir director and elementary general music teacher. This gave me experience working with a wide age range of students, and helped me develop different techniques for different age groups. Read More

A typical lesson begins with breathing exercises and a comprehensive vocal warmup. This is usually where we focus on the "mechanics" of singing to make sure the voice stays healthy. Next, we will typically do some ear-training and harmony work, followed by songs! I try to help students develop a diverse repertoire of music that fits their goals. Most students have 3 songs that they are working on at a time: 1) a challenge song: something that's a bit difficult and has significant room for growth, 2) a fun song: a current favorite that the student picks for herself/himself, and 3) a teacher's choice song: one that I choose for the student. I fit my style to each student's individual demands. Whatever you are looking to achieve in your vocal training I will be there to meet. Lessons center on learning the biology of singing and wholistic understanding of how the body is the main instrument of the voice. Resonance, Articulation, Breathing, Posture and Articulation are just some aspects of your vocal training. Diction in five languages is also an option; healthy belting and even screaming for Metal is available too! Read More

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
