Instruments: Voice

I have been teaching voice lessons for almost ten years to students of all ages, skill levels, and preferred genres. Many of my students have been successful on stage, in auditions, competitions, and in gaining acceptance into music schools across the country. My focus is to guide my student in finding their own voice in a healthy way. Every student has a different goal in taking voice lessons. Many have wanted to persue music as a career in some form or fashion; others just enjoy singing and would like to realize their full musical potential. Read More

I strive to have each student grow their passion and love for music. To remain curious and fearless in trying new things. I enjoy working with students to set goals such as - performing in a recital, auditioning for a production or competition, for singing and playing music they never thought they would be able to. I create a friendly judgment free learning environment. I do expect a student to be committed to their lessons and practice, but build this with care and compassion. Read More

I taught over 50 kids of all different ages and skill levels improving vastly on the teaching methods I'd already developed. Read More

I like to begin with the basics of singing technique, sight reading, and music theory. In order to be a successful singer, one must be proficient in all of these! I like to assign music by the second or third lesson, depending on the student's readiness and ability. I typically assign one classical and/or one musical theater song, depending on the student's interest. I start with only these two genres because I feel that singing something that the student can hear on the radio can be difficult to sing while implementing the new technique they are learning in lessons with me. Over the years, I have come to understand that each individual has a different path to follow. Teaching in one specific way could help one student, but that same way could hamper another. Although I have a lesson plan that includes the fundamentals of music, I adjust the way I teach the material in response to my students needs, interests and temperaments. Read More
