For piano I prefer the Faber series. I like to include scales, sight-reading, and repertoire of the students choosing and of my suggestion. For Voice I like to cover the anatomical fundamentals (posture, breath, phonation, and depending on age), in the first lesson, and each lesson includes a warm-up as well as at least one piece of repertoire of the students choosing. Not everyone learns the same way and to try to teach everyone the same way, you won't always get the results you want. That's why during my first lesson with each student, I try to figure out what the student wants to learn and how they learn best so we can come up with a plan that would work best for them, knowing that there's always room to amend that plan. For beginner piano students I generally work out the Faber Piano Adventures and for adults I use The Older Beginner Piano Course by Bastien. For Flute students I use the Trevor Wye Beginners Book for the Flute. Clarinet I use the Rubank Method books.
