As a voice teacher, it is very rewarding to watch people grow as musicians and as artists. I love creating music, and that transfers over to helping others harness the power and artistry that we each possess within ourselves. However, talent isn't everything! Without the discipline it takes to practice and be patient with yourself, progress won't be made as quickly. I encourage students to practice regularly, and to set small, attainable goals for each practice session. Read More

When it comes to jazz, I think learning the basics of the language is key! I like to use Jim Snidero's book "Jazz Conceptions" for many beginner to advanced students to study etudes that will help them internalize the ins and outs of what professionals play in their improvisation. I also encourage students to experiment on their own time on what kind of music they want to play, while also encouraging them to practice material that will propel their musicianship, especially for beginner and intermediate students. I also believe that singing is highly physical and I help all of my students with physical exercises to help them become more aware of their bodies and build strength in certain places while releasing others, especially in the belly and abdomen (a place singers often hold so much tension). These exercises are based mostly on Qi-Gong moves which also facilitate smooth, even breathing. My overall goal, of course, is for my students to have fun and be able to express themselves without any limits from unhealthy technique, and be able to share their gift with the world. Read More

Its amazing to watch my students fall in love with their instrument and gain confidence and joy from learning to play. Everyone is different and will need to go at their own pace. My job is more of a "coach" - setting up structures and practices to help you succeed but not doing the work for you! I will help fuel your desire to grow as a musician and encourage you to progress at your own pace while celebrating each and every success along the way while tailoring my instruction based on my students needs and goals. Instruments: Piano Voice
I am a passionate and motivated voice and piano instructor who loves working and meeting new students! I began singing in the 4th grade in the musical Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! It was my very first time ever being on stage, and ever getting to sing a solo. The thrill of sharing my love for music is something I will share and hold with me forever. I will be graduating in 5 days with my BMUS focus in Jazz Vocal Performance. Read More
