I'm an accomplished vocalist, pianist, actor and educator and I've been involved in the performing arts from a very young age. Born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, I have entertained audiences in several different countries and I bring a unique blend of multicultural experiences into everything I do. To me, that means training studentsin the styles of music that each individual feels the most connected to, and then extending their knowledge and awareness to styles that they may not have as much experience with. I am very relaxed in my teaching style and love the satisfaction of teaching privately. I choose to teach privately due to the heightened intensity of interaction with students and the fact that we can create a process that is uniquely adapted to the needs of each student. I have expectations for my students and they have expectations for me. I love that. I cater the lessons towards what the student wants while emphasizing the importance of fundamentals and theory. I incorporate songwriting and improvisation into my lessons, as well as songs the student wants to learn. I believe all students should be encouraged to be creative, while still maintaining a strong emphasis on fundamentals, thus leading to the creation of their unique musical style. I generally tend to split the lessons up into warm up techniques, repertoire, sight reading, listening/dictation, discussing music the student likes/wants to learn, and improvisation and songwriting. I am currently fourth year senior Music Education major student at Western Connecticut State University who will be earning a B.S. Music Education in May 2019. I am currently a classical voice student in my studies, but serve as the accompanist for the Western Connecticut State University Concert Chorale. For younger students, I typically begin with stage presence. I mostly focus on stage presence with all of my students regardless of age but usually always with younger students. I find that younger students sometimes have such huge talent and voices but don’t quite know how to perform in a way that fully demonstrates their true ability.
