My style is ambitious and positive! I want my students to realize the gifts they have, and I will support them in their journey to playing and sharing music; whether it be for the elementary school play, or for a professional track...or simply for pure enjoyment and personal growth! I do not wish to limit student to a specific style. Rather, I am here to steer people towards healthy, strong, and technically sound singing, (through physically supported breathing and mindful approaches to tone quality and song choices!) as well as solid knowledge base and empowering piano skills, The potential is limitless! I would say my second best quality as a teacher is being able to teach the theory behind the musical they are learning. I mainly teach voice, guitar, and piano, but through those styles, I also teach jazz guitar, vocal improvisation, classical and jazz theory, ear training, vocal technique, and composition  and arranging. I want to be able to cover as many areas of music that a student is interested in. Read More

As a piano teacher, my approach to education aligns with the Classical Model, emphasizing the development of critical thinking and listening skills alongside fundamental reading, writing, and thinking abilities. I believe in fostering a classroom environment that encourages participation and engagement, utilizing varied historical themes and musical materials to promote analysis of primary and secondary sources. To ensure all students can succeed, I provide a range of methods and assignments, including writing assignments, office hours, and exam review outlines. Read More

For young piano students I'm a fan of John Thompson method books. I get the student through beginners and then through at least the Grade 1 book. Then I introduce beginner piano literature books to help the student see a real music book. I work on music theory and how to map out a piece of music to learn it better. We start talking about musical style as well. For adults I use basically the same method but usually start with the Alfred all-in-one book. Read More

It really all started back in 1994, in the small town of Mays Landing, NJ when my mother first signed me up for piano lessons with my first teacher Fred Rushmore (a.k.a. Mr. Fred). I studied hard with him for over 10 years when I started accompanying the Oakcrest High School choir under the direction of Charles Bass. I learned a lot about playing with others there ultimately preparing me for my journey ahead in college. Read More

My most recent teaching experience occurred while I was working on my Masters at Binghamton University. There, I had my own voice studio, comprised of top performing vocal students, as well a course open to any level of singers, which introduced them to a healthy singing technique. Prior to that, I had a privately run voice studio where I taught students both in person and online. In all of my years of experience teaching, my students have always found success in their singing. My teaching experience includes working as Skills Instructor at a day program for adults with disabilities. There, I taught dance classes and sing alongs, meditation groups, cooking groups general life skills. I have also lead music in nursing homes for patients with dementia/Alzheimers. I have traveled throughout high school and college, along the east coast, to perform with choirs at churches, schools, and public events. I plan to design a curriculum that encourages students to be creative express themselves. Read More

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
