I would ask for the student to prepare a song of their choice and we would typically spend a few lessons learning the fundamentals and engaging in proper technique. I am a passionate and dedicated instructor, who has been working on training the voice for 9 years. In 2017, I graduated from Western Connecticut State University with a degree in Music, concentration in Classical Voice. From there Ive been working on my masters at the University of Bridgeport in Music Education. I will obtain that degree in December of 2019. It's the subtle changes internally that make the drastic changes which completely change a style. For children, I tend to start with basic and easy songs and we build from there. I have a BA in music from Brooklyn College and have also studied privately with several different vocal and guitar instructors over the years, because I believe there is always more to learn!
