My first lesson is always focused on the student's goals. We will discuss background and interest in music. I will test range via keyboard and show activities concerning different diction exercises and breathing techniques. Every student has different learning needs and I tailor my lesson pace around them. I have released four studio albums which have received critical acclaim and I have also had the opportunity to perform my music around the world. Apart from my projects, I have been the resident vocal arranger for numerous television shows such as Australia's Got Talent, X-Factor, Celebrity Singing Bee to name a few. I "draw" the student toward their own voice. It is imperative to help them find their own "style." I have performed extensively throughout Europe and the U.S., and in every major concert hall in NYC including Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, Merkin Concert Hall, St. John the Divine and many other landmark locations. Both piano and voice students are required to become familiar with basic music theory. No worries if you are not proficient! We will get you there within the first few lessons. For piano students, I will start them with basic scales and the Hanon exercises. After the student masters a few of the beginning exercises, we will slowly begin to add repertoire that solidifies proper technique. I tend to only work with beginning piano students, as it is not my primary instrument. Read More
