I like to make learning an instrument an enjoyable experience and allow students to progress at their own pace.  I also introduce them to different styles of music such as classical, folk, Broadway musicals as well as popular songs.  In addition, I teach students new skills and techniques to enhance their playing abilities. I began teaching in 2003, right at the beginning of my college studies. I taught in several after school programs in upstate New York, and organized many student recitals. I encourage daily practice, as this gives students a chance to become comfortable with the violin much more quickly, and I make listening to music a part of each students normal routine so they can strengthen their desire to learn. In 2015, I was also featured as the soprano soloist in Beethovens 9th Symphony with the Clinton Symphony Orchestra under the baton of maestro Charles Schneider. I also have years of experience performing in plays and musical theater. My most notable roles include Mrs.Bennet in Pride and Prejudice, Ariel in The Tempest, Lucinda in Into the Woods, Tessie Tura in Gypsy, and Elle Woods in Legally Blonde. I have created a curriculum which is comprised of the Suzuki series for Violin, the String Builder Series by Samuel Applebaum; the Introducing the Positions-Volumes I & 2 and Scale studies by Harvey S. Whistler. Music theory is taught using the Master Theory Series by Charles S.Peters and Paul Yoder. Additional Etudes that focus on Bowings, and Double Stops are taught to the more advanced student.
