I try to tailor lesson plans to each individual as I believe different people want to get different things out of singing. For younger students, I will focus on the fundamentals of music such as pitch recognition, rhythmic accuracy, scale execution. These building blocks can help children confidently express themselves in music. I strongly believe that every human being is capable of singing. Each person has something to say with their own unique sound. To get that sound out we just need to revert back to the simple tools that we all possess from speech, such as yells or cries, shouts, sirens, slides, and inflection. My aim is to guide students to be independent musicians, therefore lessons include vocal technique, breathing and vocal production, reading music, music theory, how to learn a piece of music effectively and efficiently. I suggest repertoire based on a student's previous experience, if any, or relate repertoire to their life experience, if appropriate. I am a dedicated and determined voice teacher, with a passion rooted in the desire to develop a healthy vocal technique. In 2022, I graduated with my Masters of Music in Vocal Performance from Binghamton University. Over the past ten years, I have spent time performing on stage in concerts, operas, and musical theatre. Some highlights of my singing career include touring through parts of Austria and Italy, working with music professionals from Juilliard, and competing in the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition. For beginner piano students I generally work out the Faber Piano Adventures and for adults I use The Older Beginner Piano Course by Bastien. For Flute students I use the Trevor Wye Beginners Book for the Flute. Clarinet I use the Rubank Method books.
