Instruments: Piano Saxophone Mallet Percussion

For younger students, I believe in the importance of solidifying technique and understanding of the piano along with developing an excitement for music. With older students, I guide the lessons based on their interests. I believe strongly in the importance of ear training for students of all ages to provide a deeper understanding of the music. My teaching methods are rooted in the balance between technical proficiency and emotional expression, reflecting my own journey and experiences as a guitar player. I craft custom lesson plans for each student, recognizing that everyone's musical journey is unique. For beginning students, I usually start with foundational techniques, ensuring a solid grasp of finger placement, chords, scales, and rhythm. I use a combination of traditional materials and my own specially designed exercises that cater to the individual's interests and musical tastes. Read More

My teaching experience has been as eclectic as my musical experiences. Over the past 2 years I have been teaching private lessons at my home studio consistently. Currently I'm looking to expanding my student-base and focus on teaching full time while finishing my final year of graduate studies. The majority of my students have been beginners ages 5-14, although I've been giving informal guitar lessons to peers for the majority of my college and graduate school time. Read More

Instruments: Piano

My solo repertoire includes pieces ranging from Baroque era to modern music, which makes me a unique expert in piano performance in regards to styles, various techniques and musical interpretation. Also, I have taken numerous private master-classes from well known piano masters such as Boris Berman (Dean of piano department at Yale University), Alexander Korsantia (Professor at New England Conservatory, winner of Rubinstein international piano competition), Jura Margulis (Professor at Arkansas University), Ian Fountain (Professor at Royal Academy of Music in London), which makes me familiar with different music teaching "schools" of performance. Instruments: Piano Violin Cello Viola Music Keyboard

I began teaching Piano and Violin at the age of 15 to people between the ages of 4 to 65. This eventually moved on to classroom settings for strings and Chorus. One thing Ive learned from all this time is that people want to be able to actually PLAY and have FUN. Music Theory and the Fundamentals are are important but the engagement and the motivation to maintain consistent work over the course of our time together! Read More

Instruments: Piano Music

For beginners I typically start with the Bastien or Faber Method and as their level increases I always assign pieces outside of the piano method which are generally performed at their first recital. Adults are also welcome to participate and I have them work on at least 2 contrasting pieces based on skills they may need to work on as well as something they love and enjoy learning. I do give basics importance (scales, arpeggios, etc) as I believe this greatly improves a student's understanding and helps them reach a much higher level in the repertoire they are working on.
