At the same time, these exercises can help students to learn to sightread, and I will give an additional lecture on musical notation with written material for reference at no charge if necessary. With beginning students, I will start with the basics and encourage them to buy A Modern Method for Guitar by William Leavitt. Starting out, students will work on chords and scales. We will also work on building a repetoire of songs for the student to work on perform. Intermediate students will work on the fundamentals of theory, triads, beginner 7th chords, and improvasation. He placed third in the 2019 National Trumpet Competition Jazz Division and placed as a semifinalist in the small classical ensemble division. I performed at venues and festivals including Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center, BBC Radio Foyle, Ulster Hall, Panama Jazz Festival, Rochester International Jazz Festival, and the San Jose Jazz Festival.
